Metropolis

Project Overview

This project takes Metropolis (1927) as its starting point, translating the film’s aesthetic and themes into a styling narrative.

The styling portrays a divine and powerful feminine figure, defined by mystical elements and subtle grotesque details.

Centered on red, white, and black, the styling combines leather, lace, and sheer fabrics that work in dialogue, each material enhancing the presence of the other.

Lighting is kept sharp and deliberate to emphasise volume and shadow, while poses remain controlled and almost ritualistic, echoing themes of power and mysticism.

Both the composition and the styling remain minimal, directing attention to the interplay of materials and the layered complexity within each look.
