Build to Wear

Project Overview

Denim has always been about use. Before it became fashionable, it was worn as a uniform, “denim on denim”, because it was strong, practical, and reliable. There was no styling intention behind it. It was simply what worked. This project takes the idea of denim as a uniform and reimagines with today’s terms. The looks are built by layering different denim pieces, inspired by how workers used to wear denim from head to toe. Rather than copying that look exactly, the focus is on updating it through fit, proportions, and layering, so it still reads as a uniform but feels current and wearable.

Elements like a shirt, a T-shirt, or a jacket are added naturally, the way they would be worn in real life, to keep the looks grounded and functional. The focus stays on wearability and simplicity, letting the material speak for itself. The result is a clean but contemporary take on denim that feels cool and relevant without losing the honesty that has always defined jeans.
